The Xero Contacts Tab

Updated 2 Aug 2026

Xero contacts sync into Salesforce as their own records, separate from Accounts. The Xero Contacts tab is where you see them and check what they're linked to.

Xero Contacts. The Account column shows what each contact is matched to.

What's on the list

  • Xero Customer Name — the name as it appears in Xero
  • Account — the Salesforce Account it's linked to, or blank if unmatched
  • Contact Status — active or archived in Xero
  • Is Customer / Is Supplier — how Xero classifies it

Using it to check matching

A blank Account is an unmatched contact. Scanning this column is the quickest way to see what account matching still has to do, and to spot a contact linked to the wrong Account.

Customer and supplier

Whether supplier contacts appear at all depends on Customer Types to Sync — see Sync settings. Set to Customers Only, supplier-only contacts never reach Salesforce.

Two records, one organisation

The Xero Contact and the Salesforce Account are deliberately separate records with a link between them. That's what lets one Account carry contacts from several Xero organisations.
