Custom Invoice Percentages

Updated 19 Sept 2026

Milestone billing, say 30% on signing, 40% on delivery and 30% on completion, normally means someone working out each line by hand and getting one wrong eventually. Custom invoice percentages does it for them.

Configuration → Tools → Invoice Percentages Tool.

What it does

In the product's own words, it allows users to easily adjust all of the line items to be a percentage of total. This is useful if you are taking fixed-percentage milestones and don't want your users having to manually calculate them.

On the invoice screen the user picks a percentage and every line's unit price is scaled to it, so a 30% milestone invoice keeps the full line-item detail at 30% of each value. Lines with no price are left alone.

Turning it on

Configuration → Tools → Invoice Percentages Tool.

  1. Enable Custom Invoice Percentages on Invoices. The toggle switches the option on for every user.
  2. Percentage Types to Show decides what users can pick:
OptionWhat users see
Preset OnlyOnly the list you define
Custom OnlyA box to type their own percentage
BothThe list, plus the option to type one

Preset percentages

Presets. Arrows change the order users see them in.

Click New to add one: a Percentage Name of up to 38 characters and a % Of Line Items between 0 and 100 with up to two decimal places. The arrows reorder them, so the ones used most can sit at the top.

Name them for the milestone

"Deposit — 30%" tells a user when to pick it. "30" doesn't.

Presets are shared

The list applies across the org, and deleting a preset removes it for everyone. Deleting one doesn't change invoices already raised with it; the percentage was applied to their prices at creation.

Choosing a mode

Preset Only keeps billing consistent and is the safer default. Both suits teams with genuinely irregular milestones, at the cost of letting someone type 3% when they meant 30%.
